Halbert E. Davis, 60, of San Antonio died at 12:25 a.m. Saturday in a San Antonio hospital. He was a former Wacoan.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in China Spring Baptist Church, Rev. Paul G. Smith will officiate with burial in China Spring Cemetery.

Mr. Davis was born in China Spring and was educated in China Spring schools. He married Miss Dorothy Mabel Johnson in Waco in 1928. He worked with the Civil Service in Ohio, Kansas and Temple, Texas before moving to San Antonio in 1946. He was still in Civil Service at the time of his death.

He was a member of China Spring Baptist Church and J.H. Gurley Lodge No. 337 A.F. and A. M. He had been ill for several months.

Survivors are his wife; mother, Mrs. Will Davis; son, Elliott W. Davis; and two grandchildren.
