E. Grady Davis, 75, a longtime pharmacist and rancher died at a local hospital Monday, December 7, 1998.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 9 at China Spring Cemetery with Dr. Charles Shellenberger and G.M. (Mac) Gorham in charge.
He was born in Stamford, Texas and lived in Big Spring until entering college. He served as an officer in the Navy, commanding a landing craft in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. after receiving his Pharmacy degree from the University of Texas in Austin, he became the managing partner of The Prescription House in Waco in 1947. He established Ace Hi Ranch located between China Spring and Valley Mills where, with Paul Almanza as his ranch manager, produced prize winning Registered Polled Hereford cattle. For many years he was active in the Texas Polled Hereford Breeders Association. After his retirement and the sale of Ace Hi Ranch, he and his wife Joyce, of 30 years, continued to live on a retained portion of the Ace Hi Ranch.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by three brothers, Rudolph Davis, Vernon Davis and Dick Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; sister, Florence Radle of Waco; two sisters in law; nieces and nephews.
