John S. Matkin, 2028 Maple Avenue, died at 4:45 a.m. Monday in a local hospital.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Connally Chapel.  Dr. Joseph Bailey officiating assisted by Rev. Earl Vanderford, burial in China Spring Cemetery with Masonic honors.

Survivors:  his widow, Mrs. Marietta Matkin, four sons, Jack Matkin and Robert Matkin both of Houston, Donald Matkin and Raymond Matkin both of Waco; one sister, Miss Lillie Matkin; three nieces, Mrs. W. L. Womack of Tyler, Miss Maurine Matkin of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Max Barnett of Irving; three grandchildren.
